singer/songwriter performer composer
I was born in Monroe, Louisiana but moved shortly thereafter to Shreveport which is where I grew up and originally began performing music. My first band, The Squires, started in Junior High and got pretty popular for parties and with other kids our age. At 15, I went to New Orleans and began playing at a club called "The Gunga Den" on Bourban Street. That was quite an experience for a 15 year old kid!
At 18 I was back in Shreveport playing in various bands on the old infamous Bossier Strip. During this time I played in a variety of venues from Country to Jazz to Rock 'n Roll and with a big variety of musicians. During this time is when recording also became a big part of my life doing extensive studio work at Sound City Studios in Shreveport.
I also continued my musical studies with Eddy Kozak and began teaching at Kozak Studios. This part of my life wound up leading me into the role of Timpanist with The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and led me into getting my degree in Composition/Percussion/Piano at Centenary College. These studies also led me into my involvement with church music which continues as a composer/choir director/performer.
After extensive traveling and working both in the studio and in live performances I have settled in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area and continue to write, perform, and teach.
